As a Managing Director within Global Insurance Solutions, you will serve as a senior Insurance Market Specialist supporting the Japanese insurance market while partnering with colleagues and clients across Asia. You will work closely with Client Advisors, investment teams, and Insurance Strategy & Analytics professionals to deepen client relationships, identify business opportunities, and deliver investment and strategic solutions to insurance companies. The successful candidate will bring deep insurance investment expertise, strong relationship management skills, and a commercial, solutions-oriented mindset. Job Responsibilities Serve as an insurance market specialist for Japan and support insurance business development initiatives across Asia. Build and deepen relationships with insurance CIOs, CFOs, Treasurers, ALM teams, and other senior investment decision-makers in partnership with Client Advisors and investment teams. Interpret regulatory, accounting, capital, and market developments and translate insights into relevant client solutions. Represent Global Insurance Solutions in client meetings, executive discussions, industry conferences, and educational forums. Partner with investment teams and product specialists to identify and position investment solutions and structures for insurance investors. Collaborate with Insurance Strategy & Analytics professionals to deliver analyses and insights on asset allocation, asset-liability management, capital optimization, and insurance investment strategy. Identify emerging industry trends, client challenges, and investment opportunities across insurance markets. Develop and deliver insurance-focused research, presentations, thought leadership, and educational content for clients and internal stakeholders. Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills Extensive experience working within insurance companies or advising insurance clients through asset managers, consulting firms, banks, or rating agencies. In-depth knowledge of Japanese insurance company investment practices, including general account investing, asset allocation, asset-liability management, regulatory capital, and insurance investment regulations. Strong knowledge of insurance balance sheets, accounting frameworks, and liability management. Established relationships within the Japanese insurance industry, with experience engaging senior insurance executives and investment decision-makers. Demonstrated analytical, presentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Experience working effectively across global and cross-functional teams. Commercial acumen with experience identifying client needs and business development opportunities. Fluency in Japanese and English. Bachelor’s degree. Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills Experience working with insurance markets elsewhere in Asia, including Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, or Thailand. Proficiency in Korean or Mandarin. Advanced degree in finance, economics, business, actuarial science, or a related field. CFA, FSA, ASA, FRM, or comparable professional designation. Experience developing insurance investment thought leadership through publications, industry participation, or external speaking engagements.
