We are seeking experienced Senior Java Developer / Technical Lead to lead and execute a Java platform modernization initiative involving the migration of enterprise applications from Oracle JDK 8 to OpenJDK 17/21. The candidate will be responsible for independently assessing application compatibility, upgrading dependent frameworks, resolving migration issues, and supporting deployments across development, testing, and production environments. This is primarily a Lift-and-Shift migration initiative driven by WebLogic upgrades and end-of-life (EOL) requirements. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in legacy Java enterprise applications, WebLogic, Spring Framework, Hibernate, EJB, and CI/CD pipelines. 8+ years of hands-on experience in Java application development and support. Strong experience with Java 8 and migration to Java 17/21. Expertise in SOAP Web Services, EJB, Spring Framework, and Hibernate. Experience working with Oracle WebLogic Server in enterprise environments. Proficiency in source code management using Bitbucket and CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins. Experience in application modernization, dependency upgrades, and production deployments. Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and drive migration activities with minimal supervision.
