Senior Software Engineer, Automotive Partnerships

Accountabilities: Design and develop software solutions: Build, maintain, and optimize core backend services, APIs, and workflows that support automotive partnerships and product integrations. Own the software development lifecycle: Lead features from technical design and implementation through testing, deployment, monitoring, and ongoing production support. Deliver partner integrations: Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to translate business and technical requirements into scalable, reliable integrations. Shape system architecture: Participate in system design discussions, influence architectural decisions, and help evolve services to support future business needs. Maintain engineering excellence: Write clean, high-quality, well-tested code and contribute to constructive code reviews, technical documentation, and development standards. Improve system performance and maintainability: Identify technical debt, optimize performance, and balance short-term delivery priorities with long-term reliability and scalability. Mentor and support engineers: Share technical expertise through pairing, code reviews, mentoring, and knowledge-sharing initiatives. Support operational excellence: Participate in on-call rotations, troubleshoot production issues, and help maintain the stability and availability of critical services. Requirements Professional experience: At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience developing and maintaining production systems. Backend development: Strong hands-on experience building backend services and APIs using Ruby on Rails. Distributed systems and cloud infrastructure: Experience designing, developing, or supporting distributed applications and cloud-based environments. System design and reliability: Solid understanding of data modeling, application performance, system architecture, scalability, and service reliability. End-to-end ownership: Ability to independently manage technical initiatives and deliver features from initial design through production support with minimal supervision. Technical problem-solving: A pragmatic, product-oriented mindset and the ability to navigate ambiguity, evaluate trade-offs, and develop maintainable solutions. Communication and collaboration: Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external technical partners. Engineering leadership: A commitment to code quality, continuous improvement, mentoring, and establishing effective engineering practices.
