Paytm’s mission is to serve half a billion Indians and bring them to the mainstream economy with the help of technology About the Role We're looking for a Product Management to own and scale our UPI product charter — one of the largest and most consequential product surfaces in Indian fintech. This is a role for someone who is equal parts strategic operator and hands-on builder — someone who can set a multi-year vision for UPI and translate it into a roadmap that ships. We want someone who thinks in systems and platforms, is deeply fluent in consumer behavior and data, and is genuinely excited about applying modern AI — agents, LLMs, personalization, and automation — to solve payment problems at massive scale. You'll own outcomes across the full UPI stack: P2P and P2M payments, onboarding, mandates/AutoPay, payment success rates, fraud & risk experience, and next-gen AI-powered payment journeys — while partnering closely with Engineering, Data Science, Design, Risk, Compliance, NPCI/bank partnerships, and Business teams. Key Responsibilities -->Define the vision and multi-year strategy for Paytm's UPI product suite, and translate it into a roadmap that balances scale, reliability, growth, and innovation. -->Drive core UPI metrics — transaction success rate, activation, retention, P2P/P2M growth, and market share — with full ownership of the P&L levers that matter. -->Champion an AI-first product culture: identify where Generative AI, ML-based risk models, conversational interfaces, and intelligent automation can simplify journeys, improve payment success, reduce fraud, and cut operational load. -->Be the voice of the customer — using consumer research, funnel analytics, and cohort data to challenge assumptions and prioritize ruthlessly. -->Own stakeholder and partner management across NPCI, banking partners, regulators, and internal risk/compliance/legal teams, ensuring UPI products are both delightful and fully compliant. -->Drive quarterly and annual planning cadences, set measurable OKRs, and stay accountable to outcomes, not output. -->Represent Paytm externally as a thought leader on UPI and digital payments innovation in India. Superpowers/ Skills that will help you succeed in this role: · -->Experience in product management, ideally in consumer fintech, payments, or high-scale consumer internet products. Proven experience owning large, consumer-facing products at scale (tens of millions of users/transactions) — UPI, wallets, payments, or adjacent fintech products strongly preferred. -->Strong product analyst instincts — comfortable going deep into funnels, cohorts, SQL/data tools, and experimentation frameworks to form and test hypotheses, not just review dashboards. -->Demonstrated ability to apply AI/ML to real product problems — whether that's personalization, fraud detection, conversational/agentic interfaces, or workflow automation. You don't need to write the models, but you need to know what's possible and know how to get it built. -->A track record of building 0→1 products and scaling 1→100 platforms, with comfort operating in ambiguity and translating messy problems into crisp specs and roadmaps. -->Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills — you can influence engineering leaders, regulators, and executives with equal clarity. -->Strong understanding of the UPI ecosystem — NPCI guidelines, bank partnerships, payment rails, and the competitive landscape (PhonePe, Google Pay, and emerging players). -->MBA or equivalent from a top-tier institute preferred, but not a substitute for demonstrated product judgment and results.
