The Impact of a Lead Software Engineer at Coupa: At a technical level, your development team will offer application and infrastructure support for customer environments. You’ll have the opportunity to collaborate across software products with engineers all over the company and the globe to plan and deploy product releases. What You’ll Do:: Model Deployment: Work with Operations Research and Data Scientists to deploy complex algorithms and Ai features into production, including integration of Large Language Models (LLMs) and custom AI gateways Process Improvement: Continuously seek opportunities to optimize performance, simplify existing code and enhance CI/CD pipelines Performance and Scalability: Identify and Deploy new cutting-edge techniques to improve platform performance and scalability System Upgrades: Work with third party vendors to test and deploy latest developments leveraged on the platform Algorithm Testing: Oversee and Maintain algorithm testing across Optimization and AI advancements, work with the team to bench-test, profile and tune mathematical and AI models Data Pipeline Management and Security: Develop and Maintain a system for capturing data that tracks performance and application/algorithm usage and work with the security team to ensure data is captured and stored in a secure manner Technical Mentorship: Act as a force multiplier by mentoring senior and junior engineers. Establish code review standards, best practices and run design sessions to elevate the team’s engineering practices Cross Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product, Design and Enterprise Architecture teams to build end-to-end features that resolve complex requirements What You Will Bring to Coupa : Bachelor’s degree in computer science / engineering, Operations Research or a closely related field (Master’s Preferred) 8+ years of industry experience developing web applications or platforms, with 1-2 years of experience acting as a pod or technical lead Experience deploying production level AI and/or optimization models in commercial environments Strong programming proficiency in .NET Core/.NET 8+, Python, C#, Groovy, Java as well as the use of AI Assistants to increase efficiency Deep understanding of computation complexity, advanced data structures andalgorithmic design Excellent communication skills with the proven ability to explain highly complex engineering principles to product and business leaders You enjoy mentoring others and are passionate about cultivating a highly collaborative, intellectually rigorous engineering culture You embody Coupa’s core values: Drive Success for #AllOfUs, Own Our Results, Cultivate Belonging, and Build Tomorrow Together The strong ability to make technical decisions with minimal direction and guide a globally distributed team in an agile ecosystem What will give you a competitive edge (Preferred Qualifications): Domain expertise in Supply Chain Network Design and/or Large Languagev Models Experience working with mathematical (MIP/MILP) and AI/ML models Experience with Gurobi / other Commercial Mathematical Solvers Experience developing and deploying microservices on cloud native platforms (AWS, GCP, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes) Experience with large scale advanced relational and NoSQL databases Experience with enterprise message brokers (such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Rescue)
