Experienced Controller (Maternity Leave Cover)

Cloudinary is looking for an Experienced Controller to join our Finance team and take a key role in our global accounting operations. This is a high-impact, hands-on position with broad ownership across Cloudinary’s global entities. You’ll lead core accounting and reporting processes, work closely with stakeholders across the organization and around the world, and help ensure our financial operations remain accurate, efficient, and scalable. We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical accounting expertise with a practical, collaborative mindset - someone who enjoys taking ownership, improving the way things are done, and using technology and AI to make financial processes smarter and more efficient. Key Responsibilities: Own and oversee global accounting operations across Cloudinary’s group entities, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and applicable local accounting requirements. Lead the monthly financial close process across all group entities, ensuring accurate and timely reporting. Lead the preparation of annual consolidated financial statements in accordance with US GAAP. Own and coordinate the annual external audit processes , working closely with our external auditors and internal stakeholders. Own and coordinate annual tax filings for domestic entities and work with local accounting and tax firms supporting our international subsidiaries. Partner with Finance and cross-functional stakeholders to continuously improve accounting processes, controls, and operational efficiency. Leverage AI and automation tools to streamline accounting, analysis, reporting, and day-to-day financial workflows. Work hands-on with our ERP and financial systems, including NetSuite , to support accurate and scalable accounting operations. What We’re Looking For: CPA with a Big 4 background and experience working with technology/high-tech companies. Proven experience as a Controller or in a similar senior accounting role within a global organization. Strong hands-on experience managing accounting operations across multiple entities and jurisdictions . Experience leading consolidation and financial statement preparation in a global environment. Strong technical accounting expertise and in-depth knowledge of US GAAP . A technology-oriented mindset, with experience using AI tools to improve accounting, analysis, reporting, or other financial workflows. Hands-on experience with NetSuite ERP - a strong advantage. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative and team-oriented approach. Strong ownership mentality, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. Fluent English , both written and spoken.
