Practise the Techno-Functional SME Consultant (m/f/d) at Capco interview free →The Techno-Functional SME Consultant for Finastra Loan IQ is responsible for the stable operation, functional integrity and continuous improvement of the bank’s commercial-lending platform. The role combines deep lending-domain knowledge with hands-on application-support capability to ensure that loan transactions are configured, processed, serviced, accounted for and supported accurately throughout their lifecycle.
Operating at the intersection of Loan Operations, Credit, Finance, Risk and IT, the consultant owns functional analysis and coordinates technical resolution across Loan IQ, interfaces and downstream systems. The role supports production operations, incidents, problems, changes, releases, controls and sustainable remediation of recurring service issues.
Key Responsibilities- Application operations: Manage Loan IQ application health, critical business events, interfaces, batch processes and operational queues. Ensure timely completion of daily processing and proactive management of service risks.
- Incident resolution: Lead functional and technical analysis of production incidents; reproduce issues, assess business impact, identify controlled workarounds, coordinate recovery and restore service within agreed priorities.
- Problem management: Perform root-cause analysis for recurring defects, transaction failures, schedule inconsistencies, accounting breaks and interface errors. Drive permanent fixes and preventive controls.
- Functional analysis: Translate lending-business issues into clear functional requirements, impact assessments, solution options, test scenarios and acceptance criteria.
- Technical troubleshooting: Analyse Loan IQ configuration, application logs, database evidence, interfaces, messages and job failures in collaboration with technical teams and within controlled production-support practices.
- Integration management: Support integrations with origination, payment, core banking, general ledger, data, risk, regulatory-reporting, document and notification platforms.
- Change and release support: Assess Loan IQ releases, patches, configuration changes and enhancements; coordinate functional validation, regression testing, deployment readiness, post-release verification and rollback planning.
- Vendor coordination: Engage Finastra and other vendors on product defects, patches and complex investigations. Provide reproducible evidence, track remediation and validate delivered fixes.
- Controls and documentation: Maintain operating procedures, functional knowledge, configuration records, interface inventories, support playbooks, known-error records and audit evidence.
- Distributed delivery: Work with offshore and distributed support teams, ensure effective handovers, maintain functional knowledge depth and drive consistent outcomes across locations and time zones.
- 8+ years of experience in commercial-lending technology or banking application support, with substantial hands-on expertise in Finastra Loan IQ.
- Strong knowledge of Loan IQ customer, deal, facility and outstanding structures, together with servicing, settlement and accounting processes.
- Demonstrated functional expertise in flexible loans, restructurings, end-to-end loan lifecycle events and loan-schedule management.
- Experience supporting production incidents, service requests, problems, changes and releases for a business-critical banking application.
- Experience with Loan IQ integrations and, where applicable, Loan IQ SDK-based extensions, reports or interfaces.
- Experience preparing functional specifications, impact assessments, test scenarios, regression packs, operating procedures and knowledge articles.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, stakeholder-management and communication skills.
- University degree in Finance, Banking, Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline.
- Finastra Loan IQ product training or implementation experience across servicing, settlement, accounting or integration workstreams.
- Knowledge of ITIL, Agile delivery, release management, testing and operational-risk controls.
- Experience in Loan IQ upgrades, platform modernization, data migration, interface development or operational transformation.
