Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Technical Delivery Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of data engineering and application development initiatives. This role requires a strong combination of technical expertise, delivery management, Agile execution, and customer engagement.
The ideal candidate will be hands-on in managing day-to-day sprint activities while working closely with business stakeholders, architects, engineering teams, and product owners to ensure predictable, high-quality delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead day-to-day delivery across data engineering, application development, APIs, analytics, and reporting initiatives.
- Manage Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Develop and maintain sprint plans, delivery schedules, dependencies, risks, issues, and resource assignments.
- Track tasks and user stories in Jira, ensuring clear ownership, acceptance criteria, estimates, and timely completion.
- Work with customers and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into well-defined features and user stories.
- Partner with technical architects and engineering teams to validate solution approaches, estimates, and implementation plans.
- Monitor delivery progress, identify potential delays, and drive timely resolution of technical and functional blockers.
- Ensure teams meet commitments related to scope, schedule, quality, and performance.
- Provide clear and concise status reporting to customer and internal leadership.
- Coordinate across geographically distributed and cross-functional teams.
- Support release planning, testing, deployment, and production-readiness activities.
- Drive continuous improvement in delivery processes, engineering practices, and team productivity.
Required Technical Experience:
- Strong understanding of data engineering concepts, including data ingestion, transformation, integration, data pipelines, and analytics.
- Working knowledge of:
- Databricks
- Microsoft Azure
- .NET and C#
- Azure Web Apps
- REST APIs and system integrations
- Power BI
- Jira and Agile delivery tools
- Ability to understand solution architecture, technical designs, data flows, integration patterns, and non-functional requirements.
- Experience managing cloud-based data and application development programs.
- Ability to engage in technical discussions, challenge assumptions, identify risks, and facilitate decisions.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in technology delivery, with at least 4 years in a technical delivery or program management role.
- Demonstrated experience leading Agile teams and managing multiple concurrent workstreams.
- Strong experience in requirements analysis, backlog management, user-story development, estimation, and sprint execution.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong customer-management and stakeholder-engagement capabilities.
- Proven ability to manage priorities, dependencies, risks, and escalations in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working with globally distributed teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Databricks or Microsoft Azure certifications.
- Experience delivering enterprise data platforms, analytics solutions, or cloud-modernization programs.
- Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps, automated testing, security, and production support.
- Experience working in consulting or customer-facing delivery environments.
