Position Description

Oklo is seeking a Strategy Associate to support the corporate Strategy team on research, analysis, materials, and project execution. This is an early-career role for someone who wants to develop strong strategy fundamentals and learn how company-level decisions are made.

You will work under the direction of the Head of Corporate Strategy and senior team members. You will own clearly defined analyses and deliverables, contribute to larger workstreams, and gradually take on more responsibility as your capabilities develop. The role requires curiosity, attention to detail, and a willingness to revise work based on feedback.

Assignments may cover markets, customers, competitors, partnerships, business models, international opportunities, and strategic initiatives. You will work cross-functionally to gather facts and produce accurate, useful work for the team.

Specific responsibilities include:

• Conduct research. Gather and organize information on markets, companies, technologies, customers, investors, institutions, and competitors using credible primary and secondary sources.
• Build analytical support. Develop market analyses, simple business cases, financial models, scenarios, and data summaries under guidance from senior team members and relevant functional experts.
• Prepare clear materials. Draft and revise slides, decision memos, briefings, and meeting materials that accurately communicate the team's analysis and recommendations.
• Support recommendations. Compare options, test assumptions, identify missing information, and help senior team members synthesize evidence into a practical point of view.
• Own defined assignments. Translate a clear question into an agreed work plan, manage the details and deadlines, and deliver a reliable output for review.
• Coordinate inputs. Gather information and feedback from Finance, Legal, Government Affairs, technical teams, business units, and other contributors as directed.
• Prepare important engagements. Research counterparties, assemble background, support agendas and briefing materials, and document agreed next steps.
• Support project execution. Maintain trackers, action items, source files, and recurring updates for strategic initiatives and team priorities.
• Build reusable knowledge. Document sources, assumptions, and analyses so the team can update and reuse the work.
• Develop core strategy skills. Seek feedback, improve analytical and communication quality, and learn the company's businesses, economics, and strategic context.

Minimum Qualifications

• Early-career experience. Minimum two years of full-time professional experience, including relevant internships, in business analysis, consulting, finance, research, operations, or a related field.
• Analytical foundation. Strong quantitative reasoning and comfort working in spreadsheets, with the ability to organize data, test assumptions, and explain the result.
• Clear writing and presentation skills. Ability to produce logically structured slides and concise written work with guidance and feedback.
• Attention to detail. A record of producing accurate work, managing deadlines, and maintaining organized source materials and assumptions.
• Curiosity and learning agility. Ability to learn unfamiliar subjects quickly, ask useful questions, and distinguish facts from assumptions.
• Collaborative mindset. Comfort working as part of a team, incorporating feedback, and supporting larger workstreams without losing ownership of assigned details.

Bonus Qualifications

• Relevant early experience. Internship, coursework, or project experience in strategy, finance, market research, economics, public policy, or business operations.
• Industry exposure. Interest in or exposure to energy, infrastructure, industrial technology, government, or international business.
• Quantitative tools. Experience with financial analysis, data tools, or structured research methods beyond basic spreadsheet work.
• Implementation exposure. Experience helping carry a recommendation into a project, process, or measurable result.

Who you are

You are early in your career and want to learn strategy by doing substantive work inside a company. You enjoy research and analysis, care about the quality of the underlying facts, and are comfortable starting with a defined assignment while building toward broader ownership over time.

About Oklo travel requirements:

Oklo requires remote employees to travel to headquarters (Santa Clara, CA) twice a quarter annually, based on business or team needs, including attendance at team meetings, off-sites, and other company events or gatherings. For the first two weeks of onboarding, employees are required to be in person at headquarters in Santa Clara, CA.

About Oklo compensation: $165,000-$200,000

About Oklo Inc.: Oklo Inc. is developing fast fission power plants to deliver clean, reliable, and affordable energy at scale; establishing a domestic supply chain for critical radioisotopes; and advancing nuclear fuel recycling to convert nuclear waste into clean energy. Oklo was the first to receive a site use permit from the U.S. Department of Energy for a commercial advanced fission plant, was awarded fuel material from Idaho National Laboratory, and submitted the first custom combined license application for an advanced reactor to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Oklo is also developing advanced fuel recycling technologies in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Energy and U.S. National Laboratories.
