Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Consultant – Digital Banking to support a strategic review of the organisation’s global digital portfolio and capabilities across key Asian markets, including Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan and China.

The consultant will assess the existing digital banking portfolio, capabilities and market footprint, identify opportunities and gaps, and develop recommendations for the future-state strategy. This will include defining a forward-looking digital roadmap, capability footprint and strategic way forward across markets.

This is a strategy and advisory-focused role rather than an execution-heavy delivery position. The successful candidate should be comfortable navigating ambiguity, engaging senior stakeholders across multiple markets, conducting structured assessments and translating findings into clear strategic recommendations and executive-level materials.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct a strategic review of the existing digital banking portfolio and capabilities across multiple Asian markets.
• Assess the current-state digital landscape, including existing propositions, capabilities, initiatives, platforms and market footprint.
• Identify capability gaps, overlaps, opportunities and areas for rationalisation or further investment.
• Evaluate differences in market requirements and maturity across Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, China and other relevant markets.
• Conduct stakeholder interviews, workshops and discovery sessions with senior business and technology stakeholders.
• Structure complex and ambiguous business questions into clear hypotheses, assessment frameworks and workstreams.
• Synthesise qualitative and quantitative findings into clear strategic insights and implications.
• Develop recommendations for the future digital capability footprint and operating direction across markets.
• Define a prioritised digital banking roadmap, including strategic initiatives, sequencing, dependencies and key considerations.
• Assess strategic options and articulate associated trade-offs, risks and implications.
• Develop high-quality, executive-level presentations with clear storylines, findings and recommendations.
• Facilitate discussions with senior stakeholders to build alignment around recommendations and the proposed way forward.

Required Experience & Skills

• Demonstrated experience in strategy consulting, management consulting or strategic advisory, preferably within financial services.
• Strong understanding of Digital Banking and the broader financial services landscape.
• Experience conducting strategic assessments, current-state reviews, capability assessments and/or roadmap development.
• Experience in business transformation and/or technology transformation, with the ability to understand the intersection between business strategy and technology capabilities.
• Strong structured problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively with complex or ambiguous problems.
• Ability to assess multiple strategic options, identify implications and develop practical recommendations.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, including strong executive-level storylining and slide-writing capabilities.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with demonstrated ability to engage senior stakeholders across business and technology functions.
• Experience working across multiple markets, cultures and stakeholder groups is highly desirable.
• Strong command of English and Chinese (Mandarin and/or Cantonese).

Success Profile

The ideal candidate combines strategic consulting capabilities with Digital Banking domain knowledge and can operate comfortably across both business and technology topics.

They should be able to take a broad question such as “What should our future digital banking footprint and capability portfolio look like across Asia?”, structure the assessment, engage stakeholders across markets, identify key insights and trade-offs, and translate the findings into a compelling and actionable strategic roadmap.

The role requires someone who can think strategically, challenge constructively, navigate senior stakeholders and communicate a clear point of view, rather than primarily managing downstream implementation activities.
