Solution Architect (Professional Services)

About the Role

Veeam is seeking a Solutions Architect / Implementation Consultant to design, deploy, and validate Veeam data protection and data resilience solutions within customer environments. This role bridges the gap between solution design and hands-on delivery: translating customer requirements and pre-sales designs into a detailed implementation plan, and then executing that plan to a successful, production-ready outcome. The role works closely with Project Managers, Sales Engineers, Customer Success Engineers, and Technical Account Managers to ensure Veeam solutions are architected soundly, implemented correctly, and positioned for long-term customer success.

What You’ll Do

• Design detailed, technically sound Veeam solution architectures based on customer requirements, existing infrastructure, and best practices.
• Lead the technical implementation and configuration of Veeam products within customer environments, from initial setup through production cutover.
• Translate high-level pre-sales designs into detailed low-level design (LLD) documentation, including sizing, configuration standards, and architecture diagrams.
• Validate infrastructure prerequisites and readiness prior to deployment, identifying and resolving gaps or risks before implementation begins.
• Partner with Project Managers to align technical delivery activities with project timelines, milestones, and governance requirements.
• Execute Customer Infrastructure and Veeam Product Health Check assessments, analyzing environments and delivering clear, actionable recommendations.
• Perform testing and validation of deployed solutions, including backup/recovery testing, failover testing, and performance validation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues encountered during implementation, engaging Support, R&D, or QA as needed for escalation.
• Document as-built configurations, runbooks, and knowledge transfer materials for customers and internal teams.
• Provide technical guidance and best practices to customers and partners on the ongoing operation and optimization of their Veeam environment.
• Collaborate with Sales Engineers during pre-sales handoff to ensure a smooth transition from solution design to delivery.
• Identify opportunities for solution improvement, automation, and repeatable delivery methodology across engagements.
• Maintain up-to-date technical expertise across the Veeam product portfolio and related infrastructure technologies (virtualization, cloud, storage, backup).

What You’ll Bring

• 3+ years of experience in a Solutions Architect, Implementation Consultant, or similar hands-on technical delivery role.
• Strong working knowledge of data protection, backup and recovery, and disaster recovery concepts and technologies.
• Experience designing and implementing solutions across virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V), cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), and enterprise storage.
• Demonstrated ability to translate customer requirements into detailed technical designs and execute those designs in production environments.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues independently.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and business stakeholders.

Bonus Skills

• Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE) or higher-level Veeam certification.
• Additional certifications in virtualization, cloud, or storage technologies (e.g., VCP, Azure/AWS certifications).
• Experience delivering infrastructure or product Health Check assessments.
• Experience working within a Professional Services organization at a technology vendor or partner.
• Scripting or automation experience (e.g., PowerShell, REST API) to support repeatable deployment practices.
