Overview

We’re looking for a Senior Staff Product Manager, based in Chicago, to own the market strategy and commercial success of our Last Mile e-commerce business. This is a senior IC role for someone who can set direction in an ambiguous, fast-moving space — defining where the product goes, why, and in what order — and then act like a product GM in growing the business: driving new customer acquisition and bookings, renewals, and expansion alongside Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success. You’ll carry the Last Mile ARR number with them — treating pipeline, win rate, net retention, and expansion as your metrics, not someone else’s. The vast majority of our Last Mile customer base is US-based, and you’ll be the product leader closest to them. We have a Product Manager in Bengaluru who sits with Engineering and Design and owns day-to-day product delivery; you’ll partner closely with them so your focus stays on strategy, positioning, and growth for the last-mile delivery experience — from carrier integration and tracking through the post-purchase customer journey.

What you’ll own

You’ll set and maintain the Last Mile product strategy and roadmap, grounding it in direct customer conversations, market signal, and the realities of the US e-commerce delivery ecosystem. You’ll lead discovery and validation with US-based enterprise and retail customers — running structured conversations to surface real needs, pressure-test assumptions, and translate findings into prioritized bets. You’ll own how the product reaches the market: positioning and messaging with Marketing, pricing and packaging, enablement and deal support with Sales, and the adoption and expansion motion with Customer Success. And you’ll translate those bets into clear requirements for our Bengaluru PM and the Engineering and Design teams they sit with, keeping commitments, dependencies, and trade-offs visible across both time zones.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own the product vision, market strategy, and multi-quarter roadmap for Last Mile e-commerce — measured by commercial outcomes: pipeline, revenue, adoption, and retention
• Lead customer discovery and validation with US-based enterprise and retail accounts; synthesize what’s learned into clear, prioritized direction
• Partner with Sales and Marketing on positioning, messaging, pricing and packaging, competitive strategy, and enablement — and show up directly in strategic deals, QBRs, and executive conversations
• Translate strategy into clear, shippable requirements for our Bengaluru-based Product Manager and the Engineering and Design teams they partner with — staying accountable for outcomes without owning the day-to-day delivery
• Influence across product, engineering, and go-to-market without direct authority — aligning stakeholders on priorities and surfacing trade-offs rather than smoothing over them
• Raise the bar on product craft across the team, mentoring PMs and setting standards for how the org works

Ideal background

• Senior product experience in last mile, logistics, transportation visibility, or e-commerce fulfillment — consumer delivery experience a strong plus
• Track record of setting product strategy in ambiguous spaces and driving it to commercial results — not just shipped features
• Strong customer instinct: comfortable running US enterprise conversations independently and representing product credibly to executives, customers, and prospects
• Demonstrated influence at scale — moving cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders without relying on authority
• Experience working hand-in-hand with Sales and Marketing on go-to-market — positioning, pricing and packaging, launches, and enablement — plus comfort collaborating with a distributed delivery team across time zones

Requirements & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline that has propelled you to build tech chops in your career, from computer science to business
• 10+ years of Product Management leadership, experience building enterprise SaaS
• Experience building and driving a roadmap, based in customer needs, with a clear path to incremental delivery
• Experience presenting to executive leadership, participating in the sales cycle, and handling sensitive customer escalations
• Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to rapidly develop and cultivate relationships with peers, partners, and key influencers across a software business
• Passion and empathy for the product and for our users and strong belief in the mission of creating customer and user value
• Ability to self-manage and act with autonomy
• Detail oriented, but also strategic. You should be able to context switch from guiding on implementation details to giving a company presentation with ease and aplomb
• This position may require travel to global project44, customers, and partner locations
• Supply chain and/or logistics experience is a plus

Compensation and Benefits:

We continually evaluate our pay ranges to reflect skills, experience, and market conditions. The base salary offered will be determined by assessing a candidate's experience and skills relative to the scope and responsibilities of the position, as well as the specific geographic location where the job will be performed. Base salary is one component of project44's total compensation package, which also includes stock options for all EOR and project44-employed team members, bonus or commission eligibility depending on role, and a benefits package tailored to your country of employment. Specific benefits package offerings vary by country and may include health, dental, and vision coverage, retirement plans, and paid time off, in line with local market standards and statutory programs. The base salary range for this position is $180,000– $250,000 USD.
