Before a visit, Suki reasons over the patient's chart to prepare a summary. During the visit, it writes the note and answers clinical questions through Suki Ask. After the visit, it codes, captures orders and fills forms, while background agents handle prior authorizations, referrals and follow-up for care teams to approve.

We're bringing this together as Suki OS: modular AI building blocks that run in Suki's apps, inside EHRs like athenahealth and MEDITECH, and in 30+ partner products through our SDKs and APIs.

What you'll do

You'll build the real-time, AI-heavy platform behind Suki OS.
       ●  Core platform for real-time clinical AI: Own the shared backend services behind every Suki module, including audio streaming, note generation, LLM orchestration and access control, built for low latency and high availability.
       ●  AI agents end to end: Design, build, evaluate, deploy and monitor real-time and background agents, including multi-agent systems that coordinate work like prior auth, referrals and orders. Use tool calling, MCP, evals, safe rollouts and production observability.
       ●  Partner platform and infrastructure: Evolve the gRPC/REST APIs and SDKs our partners embed, and scale messaging, storage and data on Kubernetes and GCP to HIPAA and SOC 2 standards.
       ●  AI-native development: Use AI coding agents across the development lifecycle, and help set the tooling and review practices that keep quality high.
       ●  Leadership: Drive design reviews, mentor engineers and stay hands-on in critical code and incidents.

What we're looking for

       ●  7+ years in backend engineering, including technical leadership on large-scale systems
       ●  Expertise in Go or Python, and in gRPC, Protocol Buffers and REST APIs
       ●  Deep knowledge of distributed systems, microservices and event-driven architectures (e.g., Pub/Sub, Kafka)
       ●  Hands-on with Kubernetes, Docker, GCP and observability tooling (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry)
       ●  A pragmatic bias toward shipping, and clear communication of trade-offs
       ●  Experience working AI-native with coding agents (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor), with the judgment to verify their output and building auto-verification and self-improvement loops.
       ●  Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field

       ●  Designing, evaluating and operating LLM agents or multi-agent systems in production
       ●  Real-time streaming or speech/audio pipelines
       ●  Healthcare interoperability (FHIR, HL7, EHR integrations)
       ●  ML infrastructure at scale
