Senior Manager, Component Engineering

THE ROLE 

Drive the technical foundation and supply integrity of Everpure’s enterprise flash arrays, blades, and server building blocks as Component Engineering Manager. You will lead a high-performing engineering team and serve as the final authority on component qualification, ensuring every storage node, CPU, memory subsystem, and interconnect module meets uncompromising performance and reliability standards. By bridging Hardware Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and global semiconductor vendors, you will directly influence product architecture while safeguarding manufacturing continuity and operational scale.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Engineering Leadership & Talent Development: Build, direct, and mentor a specialized team of component engineers spanning flash/SSD technologies and server platform hardware, fostering technical growth and setting execution priorities.
• End-to-End Component Qualification: Own the complete qualification lifecycle—defining rigorous test plans, analyzing supplier data, and issuing final approval for design-in and mass production across NAND flash, CPUs, DRAM, power systems, and interconnects.
• Strategic Flash & SSD Oversight: Drive roadmap alignment and technology node transitions with key storage suppliers, governing media characterization, firmware qualification, and long-term architectural integration.
• Supply Resilience & Risk Mitigation: Establish multi-sourcing strategies, lead second-source qualifications, and manage End-of-Life (EOL) and Product Change Notifications (PCN) to eliminate single-point risks and prevent line disruptions.
• Root Cause & Quality Accountability: Lead cross-functional Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations for complex field and manufacturing failures, utilizing failure analysis frameworks to continuously elevate product quality metrics.
• Cross-Functional & Supplier Alignment: Partner with Hardware Engineering during NPI to optimize component selection, and collaborate with Procurement on technical negotiations, vendor scorecards, and cost-reduction initiatives.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Demonstrated expertise in engineering management or technical team leadership within component, hardware, or system engineering organizations.
• Deep technical mastery of NAND flash memory, SSD architectures, and comprehensive storage qualification methodologies.
• Broad knowledge of server-class hardware subsystems, including CPUs, memory interfaces (DRAM), power delivery, connectors, and PCBA manufacturing requirements.
• Proven hands-on capability with risk management frameworks, second-sourcing strategies, EOL/PCN management, and failure analysis methodologies (e.g., 8D, FMEA, RCCA).
• Strong collaborative and executive communication skills, with a background presenting technical risk analyses and operational strategy to senior stakeholders and key supplier leadership.

We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Santa Clara office in compliance with Pure’s policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.
