Senior Data Scientist- Cybersecurity

As a Senior Data Scientist, you will be tasked with joining our Static AI team, which develops state-of-the-art ML models that operate on millions of machines worldwide, evaluate billions of events daily, and make sub-second decisions to stop malware before it runs. You will bring together cross-functional skill sets, including data science, ML engineering, and software engineering, to research, develop, ship, and support ML malware detection engines across Windows, Mac, and Linux machines and cloud environments.

What Will You Do?

Primary responsibilities include:

• Design and deliver innovative ML-based detection engines that make sub-second decisions to stop malware before it runs.
• Research new approaches to AI and ML, and work with your peers to integrate the most promising advancements into our product.
• Build analytics systems that learn from a wide variety of internal and external data sources to improve existing ML models and create new ones.

What Skills and Knowledge Will You Bring?

Ideal candidates will have:

• A degree in Computer Science or Mathematics, or equivalent experience.
• Experience collecting, building, and tailoring large datasets for training ML models, specifically with classical ML algorithms, along with a solid grounding in fundamental ML concepts and statistics.
• Active use of AI tools as part of your daily workflow.
• Ability to work collaboratively to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• 3 or more years of experience designing, training, and evaluating ML models in production systems.
• Independence, with the ability to own a project end-to-end from research to production and to work through difficult problems alone, since our ML problems might be "classical," but the actual setting of these problems is far from easy or convenient.
• Strong communication skills, and the ability to communicate with people outside the team across a wide range of backgrounds and positions (product, support, engineering).
• Willingness and ability to work in a diverse, globally distributed team.
• A fiery determination and a strong team-player mindset; the team's defining trait is an "all hands on deck" attitude.
• Cyber domain experience, working on security products, especially detection systems (preferably static file analysis or detection), is preferred.
• Cloud infrastructure and MLOps experience is preferred.
• Experience with Spark, PySpark, or Databricks is preferred.
