Senior Histopathology Biomedical Scientist
Location: Oxfordshire
Salary: £60,000 - £65,000 + Benefits
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Histopathology Biomedical Scientist to join a well-established laboratory in Oxfordshire.
This permanent role is ideal for an HCPC-registered Biomedical Scientist with significant Histopathology experience and strong specimen dissection skills who is looking to progress their career within a supportive and growing laboratory environment.

What will your responsibilities be?

  • Undertake Histopathology specimen dissection and cut-up in line with departmental procedures and professional scope of practice.
  • Support the delivery of a high-quality Histopathology service within a busy laboratory environment.
  • Maintain accurate specimen documentation and laboratory records.
  • Contribute to quality assurance, audit readiness and compliance with UKAS requirements.
  • Work independently while collaborating effectively with laboratory and clinical colleagues.
  • Support service improvement and the development of junior team members where appropriate.

Qualifications and Experience

  • HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist.
  • Extensive post-registration experience in Histopathology.
  • Strong specimen dissection and cut-up experience.
  • Previous experience working within NHS laboratory settings.
  • Ability to work independently and support service delivery within a busy department.
  • Strong understanding of UKAS accreditation and laboratory quality standards.

Package and Benefits

  • £60,000 - £65,000 basic salary
