Who is Re:Build Fikst?

Re:Build Fikst, a Re:Build Manufacturing company, is a dynamic product development and engineering consulting firm located in Wilmington, MA. We work with pioneering clients to develop their technology, design their products, and bring those products to production. Re:Build Fikst's areas of expertise include industrial automation, robotics, biomedical instruments and consumables, microfluidics, specialty plastic design, optics, and design for manufacturing. We have extensive in-house laboratory and rapid prototyping capability including CNCs, 3D printers and laser cutters, which help facilitate our ability to prototype and innovate fast. As part of Re:Build Manufacturing, we are able to collaborate with other member sites and leverage a greater network of capabilities including composites, industrial design, structural analysis, and embedded systems design.

We Are Looking For:

• Hands-on builders who take ownership of prototyping tasks while proactively collaborating and seeking guidance to untangle complex electromechanical bottlenecks.
• Detail-oriented technicians who meticulously execute advanced test protocols but use their curiosity to provide valuable feedback to the engineering team for design improvements.
• Mentors and collaborative peers who embrace bidirectional trust, clearly communicate testing anomalies, and actively stop to help train newer team members on lab equipment and fabrication tools.
• Results-oriented problem solvers who use a first-principles approach to navigate daily lab challenges safely and effectively.
• Resilient and adaptable workers comfortable navigating light industrial environments and performing minor physical exertion, such as standing, walking over rough surfaces, and lifting lightweight objects.

What You'll Get to Do:

• Assemble complex electromechanical prototypes and manage intricate test rigs based on existing procedures and practical R&D applications.
• Apply job and industry-specific training to operate lab equipment, 3D printers, or basic machine shop tools, requiring some analysis or research to determine the best solution to assembly challenges.
• Serve as a highly reliable resource for the engineering team, working under limited supervision to detect errors, resolve design issues, and take ownership of build quality.
• Make day-to-day decisions guided by specific policies and job standards, managing minimal organizational authority over designated lab functions.

What You Bring to the Team:

• One to five years of similar or related experience (level and compensation will be commensurate with experience).
• A two-year college degree, completion of a specialized certification or licensing, specialized training courses conducted by equipment vendors, or job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.
• Proven experience building, troubleshooting, and testing electromechanical systems.
• Familiarity with hand tools, basic fabrication, and reading mechanical drawings or electrical schematics.

Location: 100% onsite - Wilmington, MA

The hourly rate for this position is $26.00 - $45.00. This range represents the Company’s good faith estimate of the base compensation for this role at the time of posting.  Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, and geographic location. In addition to hourly rate, this role may be eligible for annual incentive compensation and/or long-term incentives, subject to Company plans.
