Director, Strategy and Operations

Role Summary

Spring Fertility is seeking a Director, Strategy & Operations to help translate company growth priorities into focused plans, operating rhythms, and measurable outcomes. Reporting to the SVP Marketing, this role will partner across marketing, operations, finance, clinical leadership, and local market teams to improve patient acquisition, market performance, and execution discipline.

This is a high-impact role for a structured, analytical problem-solver who can move from strategy to execution: diagnosing opportunities, building recommendations, creating scalable processes, and ensuring marketing initiatives are clearly prioritized and tied to business impact.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities 

Marketing Strategy & Business Operations

• Translate enterprise growth priorities into marketing strategies, operating plans, and measurable initiatives across markets.
• Lead analyses to identify growth opportunities, diagnose funnel or market performance issues, and recommend actions across patient acquisition, activation, and resource allocation.
• Develop executive-ready business cases, decision memos, and strategic recommendations that synthesize data, operational realities, financial implications, and patient experience considerations.
• Create planning cadences, prioritization frameworks, and governance mechanisms that improve focus, accountability, and execution.

Cross-Functional Execution & Process Design

• Connect strategic priorities, campaign launches, local market activation, clinic capacity, and patient-facing initiatives.
• Design repeatable processes, playbooks, and decision rights for how marketing partners with clinical, operations, finance, and local market teams.
• Translate strategic initiatives into clear workplans, owners, milestones, risks, and success metrics.
• Lead retrospectives to assess business impact, operational friction, and lessons learned.

Analytics, KPI Ownership & Executive Reporting

• Own key marketing and volume performance metrics, including new patient demand, appointment conversion, campaign performance, and clinic capacity alignment.
• Develop dashboards, reporting, and executive summaries that connect marketing activity to patient demand and market growth.
• Synthesize trends, risks, and opportunities into clear recommendations on prioritization, timing, budget allocation, and local activation.
• Partner with finance and operations to evaluate ROI, market performance, and growth tradeoffs.

Market Activation, Patient Experience & Community Strategy

• Partner with clinical, provider, and local market teams to identify patient journey friction points and translate them into scalable marketing, education, and operational priorities.
• Develop market-specific activation plans that integrate campaigns, local partnerships, events, provider engagement, clinic readiness, and patient experience goals.
• Evaluate community, ambassador, and patient engagement opportunities through a strategic and operational lens.
• Manage Spring’s Community Manager, setting strategy, priorities, expectations, and performance measures for community and local partner activation.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
• 2–5+ years of experience in strategy, business operations, growth operations, management consulting, investment banking, corporate strategy, healthcare operations, or a similarly analytical role.
• Ability to structure ambiguous problems, analyze data, build recommendations, and align senior stakeholders.
• Experience translating strategy into operating plans, cross-functional processes, KPIs, and scalable execution models.
• Strong analytical and financial acumen, with comfort using funnel, volume, operational, and financial data to inform tradeoffs and decisions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create executive-ready presentations, business cases, dashboards, and decision memos.
• Strong systems and process fluency, with experience using dashboards, CRM or patient funnel reporting, project management tools, and workflow processes to drive visibility, accountability, and execution.
• Experience managing, coaching, or providing functional leadership to direct reports or cross-functional execution partners.
• Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple clinics or markets simultaneously and navigate ambiguity.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the credibility to work effectively with clinical and provider audiences.
• Background in management consulting, investment banking, private equity portfolio operations, corporate strategy, business operations, or strategic finance preferred 
• Experience in healthcare, fertility, women’s health, consumer healthcare, multi-site services, or other operationally complex businesses preferred
• Experience supporting multi-location, multi-market, or practice-based businesses where strategy must be translated into localized execution preferred

Employment Type

This is a full-time, exempt role that will be hybrid/remote based in one of our regions (CA, NY or OR) with ~20% expected travel 

Compensation

The starting salary range for this role is $150,000-$190,000 annually. Salary is based on several factors including job related knowledge and skill set, depth of experience, certifications and/or degrees.
