As Nucleus continues to grow, we are looking for someone who can help us use AI and automation to operate more intelligently, efficiently, and at scale.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly resourceful and hands-on AI Automation & Operations Lead to identify, build, and implement AI-powered workflows across Nucleus Network.

This is not a traditional machine-learning or AI research role. You will not be expected to build foundational AI models. Instead, you will use existing AI tools, automation platforms, APIs, and lightweight development to solve real operational problems.

You will work closely with the Nucleus leadership team to understand how different parts of the business operate, identify repetitive or inefficient processes, and turn those opportunities into reliable systems and automations.

A major initial focus will be improving how Nucleus captures, organizes, enriches, and uses relationship data. However, the role will eventually support processes across Nucleus Advisory, Nucleus Ventures, Nucleus Community, and other internal functions.

The ideal candidate is curious, technically capable, business-minded, and comfortable taking an ambiguous problem from idea to working solution.

What You’ll Do

Identify opportunities for AI and automation

• Learn how different teams and business units at Nucleus currently operate.
• Map existing workflows and identify repetitive, manual, or inefficient processes.
• Recommend where AI and automation can create the greatest operational impact.
• Prioritize projects based on business value, complexity, urgency, and scalability.
• Help the leadership team distinguish between processes that should be automated and those that still require human judgment.

Build AI-powered workflows

• Design and implement practical AI automations from start to finish.
• Connect the different platforms used across the organization to create reliable, end-to-end workflows.
• Use large language models and automation tools to extract, structure, classify, enrich, summarize, and route information.
• Build lightweight internal tools, interfaces, dashboards, or applications when existing tools are insufficient.
• Use APIs, webhooks, scripts, and no-code or low-code platforms to connect systems.
• Evaluate and introduce new AI tools when they offer a clear business benefit.

Improve CRM and relationship management

• Help build or improve Nucleus’s internal CRM and relationship-tracking systems.
• Make it easier for team members to capture and update contact information.
• Automate the enrichment and organization of contact and company data.
• Create systems that identify stale relationships or incomplete records.
• Develop lead-scoring workflows based on ideal customer profile fit.
• Build systems that surface relevant relationship insights and recommend high-quality potential introductions.
• Improve how Nucleus records, tracks, and analyzes introductions across the business.

Own implementation and maintenance

• Translate loosely defined business needs into clear technical solutions.
• Build prototypes quickly, gather feedback, and improve them through iteration.
• Test automations carefully before deployment.
• Monitor existing workflows and troubleshoot errors or performance issues.
• Maintain and improve systems as tools, processes, and business needs change.
• Build safeguards and human-review steps where accuracy or business judgment is important.
• Document systems clearly so that other team members can understand and use them.

Drive adoption

• Explain technical solutions clearly to nontechnical stakeholders.
• Train team members on new workflows and tools.
• Gather feedback from users and incorporate it into future improvements.
• Create simple documentation and operating procedures.
• Help establish practical standards for the responsible and secure use of AI across the organization.

Examples of Projects You May Work On

Your projects could include:

• Creating a frictionless system for adding new contacts to the CRM.
• Automatically identifying stale contacts and prompting the appropriate team member to follow up.
• Scoring prospective clients based on their fit with Nucleus’s ideal customer profile.
• Enriching new contact and company records using available internal and external data.
• Suggesting relevant introductions between people in the Nucleus network.
• Converting meeting transcripts, emails, and notes into structured CRM updates.
• Building workflows that track introductions and their outcomes.
• Automating follow-ups after meetings, events, and introductions.
• Creating internal search or knowledge tools that make information easier to find.
• Automating repetitive operational tasks across Advisory, Ventures, and Community.
• Building dashboards that help leadership understand activity, relationships, and performance across the business.

Tools and Technology

Nucleus currently works with tools including:

• ClickUp
• Slack
• Google Workspace
• DocuSign
• Superhuman
• Fathom
• Wispr Flow
• Claude

You do not need to have experience with every tool in the current stack. However, you should be comfortable learning new platforms quickly and connecting different systems through native integrations, automation platforms, APIs, or lightweight custom development.

Experience with tools such as Zapier, Make, n8n, Airtable, Retool, Notion, HubSpot, OpenAI, Claude, or similar platforms would be valuable.

What We’re Looking For

• At least three years of relevant experience in automation, AI implementation, operations, product, business systems, software development, or a related field—or a portfolio that demonstrates equivalent practical ability.
• Experience building working automations that solve real business problems.
• Strong practical understanding of generative AI and large language models.
• Experience using AI tools as part of everyday work, not only for experimentation.
• Ability to connect applications using APIs, webhooks, native integrations, or automation platforms.
• Comfort using no-code and low-code platforms.
• Enough technical fluency to use scripting or lightweight development when necessary.
• Strong process-mapping and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to understand a business problem before choosing a technical solution.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with nontechnical stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail, particularly when testing and deploying automated workflows.
• Ability to manage projects independently and deliver solutions with limited direction.
• Comfort working in a fast-moving environment where requirements may initially be unclear.

Nice to Have

• Experience building or managing CRM systems.
• Experience with relationship intelligence, lead enrichment, or recommendation systems.
• Experience working with venture capital, professional services, events, communities, or relationship-driven businesses.
• Experience developing internal tools or lightweight web applications.
• Familiarity with databases, structured data, and data-cleaning workflows.
• Experience with JavaScript, Python, SQL, or similar technologies.
• Experience managing data privacy, security, access controls, and responsible AI practices.
• A portfolio, case study, or demonstration of AI-powered workflows you have built.

• Establish a repeatable process for proposing, building, testing, documenting, and maintaining automations.
• Create a practical roadmap for future AI implementation across Nucleus.

Longer term, success means that Nucleus operates with better information, fewer manual processes, stronger internal systems, and a thoughtful AI infrastructure that can scale with the business.
