1151 - Data Engineer

We need an English-proficient Data Engineer, based in Latin America, available to work remotely.

Responsibilities:

• Own data workflows end to end, including ingestion, storage, orchestration, transformation, validation, and delivery.

• Build and maintain reliable inbound and outbound data transfers using cloud storage, secure file transfer protocols, and other integration methods.

• Develop and maintain ETL and ELT pipelines using workflow orchestration and event-driven processing.

• Manage data across cloud storage, data warehouses, and analytical databases.

• Design and optimize data models, schemas, queries, and transformations for reliable, efficient processing.

• Own custom datasets supporting large clients and company partnerships, maintaining a clear understanding of their sources, business definitions, lineage, and downstream dependencies.

• Partner with Customer Success, Operations, and Engineering to clarify requirements, investigate discrepancies, and communicate technical constraints and data behavior.

• Implement and maintain data quality checks, automated tests, monitoring, and alerts to ensure datasets are accurate, complete, and delivered on time.

• Troubleshoot production issues across transfers, pipelines, and databases; identify root causes and implement lasting fixes.

• Maintain documentation covering data flows, dataset definitions, architectural decisions, and operational recovery procedures.

• Evaluate technical approaches through research and prototypes, explaining tradeoffs in reliability, performance, cost, and maintainability.

• Apply appropriate access controls and secure data handling practices throughout the data lifecycle.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience as a Data Engineer.

• Experience building, maintaining, and troubleshooting production data pipelines.

• Strong Python skills for data processing, automation, and integrations.

• Strong SQL skills, including complex transformations, query optimization, and diagnosing data discrepancies.

• Practical understanding of ETL and ELT patterns, workflow orchestration, and pipeline recovery.

• Experience with cloud object storage and file-based data transfers, including familiarity with SFTP.

• Experience designing data models and working with relational databases, including schemas, indexes, and query performance.

• Ability to trace data from its source through transformations to downstream outputs and explain both its technical behavior and business meaning.

• Ability to independently investigate problems, evaluate solutions, and support technical recommendations with evidence.

• Clear communication skills and experience collaborating with technical and nontechnical teams.

It's a plus:

• Experience with AWS, particularly Amazon S3 and AWS Lambda.

• Experience with Apache Airflow or a comparable orchestration platform.

• Experience with PostgreSQL, Amazon Redshift, or ClickHouse.

• Experience managing custom datasets or integrations supporting enterprise customers or business partnerships.

• Familiarity with marketing analytics or first-party customer data.

Compensation:

• The salary range offered for this position varies from (USD) $2,000 - $2,500 per month, depending on seniority and skillset.

• This position is for a full time contract, through a payroll platform.

• The talent will work remotely allocated at our client.
