Tax Specialist

TL;DR: You will join Lovable's tax team, working with our Head of Tax and Senior Tax Specialist. You'll take a hands-on approach to operational tax compliance for a rapidly expanding, multi-entity company, while supporting key tax accounting and filing needs. Tax and accounting are tightly linked in this role, so you need to understand both. What we’re looking for Tax at Lovable is a small central team covering everything from structuring and transfer pricing to tax accounting and compliance. This role sits on the operational side: the checks and controls that keep a multi-entity business compliant day to day. We are growing fast across the globe. Vendors, invoices, registrations and forms scale with us, and the work needs to be done right and followed through, whether it sits with us, accounting or external advisors. We don't want to solve the same question twice. A big part of the role is turning tax legal and tax accounting rules into processes, checklists and automations, so the right treatment is applied consistently without someone having to remember it each time. You should have 2 to 4 years of experience in tax, accounting or audit. Not straight out of school, but you don't need to have seen everything. A good understanding of both tax and accounting and how they connect: VAT on purchases and sales, withholding tax, intercompany invoicing, provisions and differences between tax and accounting treatment. A self-starter mindset. You ask why, look things up and don't wait to be told. Attention to detail and stamina for follow up with accounting, advisors and the business. An AI-first way of working. You reach for AI and automation by default and want repeatable processes rather than manual ones. Comfort working in a small team where things are not fully defined yet. What you’ll do Run our operational tax controls, which is the core of the role: Systematic and automated VAT ID validation on customers and vendors Withholding tax on outbound payments, including W-forms US sales tax exemption certificates and related forms Reviewing customer and supplier invoices and expenses for correct tax treatment and deductibility Keep track of our tax registrations and filing status across jurisdictions, including US states and foreign VAT. Support tax accounting: provisions, reconciliations between tax and accounting, tax notes and month-end and year-end deliverables. Support recurring filings with our external advisors: corporate income tax, VAT and US federal, state and sales tax. Be a first point of contact for accounting on tax questions and support the team on audits and ad hoc requests.
