We’re looking for a commercially sharp, highly autonomous operator to drive Axle’s commercial success in the German market. Axle has quickly become the leader in our operational markets, and we’re now looking to expand our reach internationally. Our goal is to become the go-to platform for energy flexibility globally, and we’re hiring the person to make that happen. This role will assess Axle’s participation in German markets and business models from first principles: diving deep into regulations, modelling revenue-per-asset, and trialling new propositions at pace. You speak German and fluent English. Other European languages are also be an asset. What you will be doing Owning new customer acquisition end-to-end, from first conversation through to commercial close, setting our partners up to generate meaningful revenue High-level strategy development, defining and executing Axle’s international expansion plans, and assessing the commercial value of German markets and business models Diving deep into policy and regulations, understanding how market access works and what needs doing to achieve it Developing the zero-to-one of the business through partnerships with key stakeholders. You’ll be jumping on the phone (and eventually, getting on the ground) with grid operators, utilities/retailers and potential clients to create and disprove hypotheses as quickly as possible. Acting as a conduit between partners and engineering teams creating fast, structured feedback loops that help translate field insights into meaningful product enhancements As such, we are looking for a “full-stack operator” who can process highly technical information, ramp up commercial value, and accelerate us into new markets. You might have previous experience in one or more of the activities above, but we are more interested in your growth potential than your domain-specific expertise. We are looking for people who have built things, developed new relationships, and helped get big projects over the line in complex environments. This is an opportunity to repeatedly deliver first-of-a-kind projects across the world, become a domain expert, and work at the bleeding edge of global electrification. What’s in it for you This is a 12 month fixed-term contract. Compensation is highly competitive and dependent on experience. We operate with a deliberately flat structure and aim to keep pay equitable across the company, with a 1:1 median ratio between founder and team compensation. Bi-annual retreats to strengthen team connection & shared purpose. You’ll be based in the Germany. To maximise collaboration, we ask that you spend ~1 week per month working from our London office.
