Founding Engineer - Application & Deployment Lead

Building the physical foundation at Anton Robotics We're an early-stage robotics startup backed by €1M+ in pre-seed funding from a leading European VC. Our founder team combines robotics experience from Fraunhofer IPA, TUM MIRMI and industrial automation companies with strategy & Go-to-market experience from Google, Amazon, McKinsey & BCG. Our mission is to build the leading integration company for the autonomous manufacturing revolution. We believe robots will fundamentally reshape manufacturing over the coming decade, but realizing this vision requires bridging the gap between frontier research and production-ready automation. We are looking for an ambitious founding engineer to join our team super early, who wants to deploy robotic automation solutions at scale and build a strong team for the deployment of our products at scale. Tasks Build the product engineering and deployment backbone of the company Assemble a team of application engineers and manage customer deployments Design, build, install and troubleshoot scalable industrial robotic solutions Integrate sensors, cameras, pneumatics, end-effectors and industrial I/Os Manufacture, assemble, test and iterate prototypes and customer systems Own certification and safety compliance Requirements Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering or a related field Hands-on mentality and enthusiasm for building real hardware Experience with CAD, 3D-printing and manufacturing technolgies First experience in automation technology, robotics or automation machinery Independent, pragmatic and solution-oriented way of working Experience with one or more of the following makes you stand out: PLC & Industrial communication, robot programming or pneumatics Benefits Take Ownership: Join an early-stage startup where your ideas shape the company, product, and technology. An informal Cover Letter is appreciated, but not necessary. Your responsibilities Design, prototype, and test mechanical components and automation assemblies for our robotics hardware. Integrate sensors, actuators, and control systems into physical prototypes. Collaborate closely with software and electrical engineering teams to ensure seamless hardware-software co-design. Iterate on designs through rapid prototyping and rigorous physical testing. Establish manufacturing pipelines and quality standards for our mechanical parts. What we are looking for Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field. Practical experience in designing mechanical systems for automation or robotics. Proficiency with CAD software for 3D modeling and technical drawing. Hands-on experience assembling and testing physical hardware prototypes in a lab or workshop setting. Fluent command of English and a collaborative, problem-solving mindset.
