Systems Development Engineer, Amazon Leo

Amazon Leo is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Its mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities around the world, and we’ve designed the system with the Basic qualifications: - 2+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience - Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust - Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure - Experience with Linux/Unix - Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes - Experience building services using AWS products Preferred: - Experience with geospatial tooling and libraries: GeoPandas, Shapely, OGR, QGIS, PostGIS (with extensions), and map projections - Working knowledge of RF communications fundamentals, basic orbital mechanics, and satellite ground systems development - Familiarity with satellite spectrum regulatory frameworks (FCC 47 CFR Part 25, ITU Radio Regulations, or equivalent) - Experience with data analysis using Pandas or Spark DataFrames - Experience building data lake / lakehouse pipelines with AWS Athena, Glue, and S3 - Experience managing fleets at scale with AWS Systems Manager (SSM Agent, SSM Documents, orchestrated automation workflows) Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
