System Development Manager, OMHS SCS

Amazon is building the next generation software, hardware, and processes to run our state-of-the-art global fulfillment network that moves many millions of units of inventory, ensuring that customers get Basic qualifications: - 3+ years of managing system or software development teams experience - Experience in agile software development methodology - Experience coordinating between technical teams, peers and business stakeholders - 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience - Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or an equivalent engineering science - 5+ years of control system working experience in PLC and Soft PLC-based controls design, development, implementation and support - 5+ years machine control code development experience in IEC 61131-3 languages including structured text and/or ladder-logic - Experience in industrial fieldbus and protocols: Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT, ProfiNET, TCP/IP, MQTT, OPC-UA - Experience with industrial automation safety design and programming per IEC 61508 or ISO 13849 Preferred: - Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence - Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby - Experience in creating process improvements with automation and analysis, or experience working with stakeholders - Master's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or Master's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent - Experience with HMI design and development Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
