Sr. Site Technical Manager, Devices Postponement Operations (DPO)

The Senior Site Technical Manager (STM) is responsible for development, qualification, and validation of assembly, test, and pack out processes for Amazon’s Devices Products in a multi-product, automation-focused Basic qualifications: - Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures - Experience with process improvements (Lean Six Sigma and/or Kaizen) - Bachelor of Science in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent - Experience as on-site technical lead for high-volume manufacturing and complex packout, leading issue resolution, and overseeing routine machine maintenance and monitoring - Demonstrated experience with cycle time waterfall and line balancing, SOP generation, personnel training - Experience developing functional specifications, design verification plans, and functional test procedures while launching programs in a phase-gate release (e.g., xVT, Ramp) and acceptance-test process (FAT, SAT); basic GD&T and DFx (Manufacturing, Cost, Test) - Demonstrated knowledge and experience with quality concepts, tools, and methods such as 8D, DOE, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Measurement Systems Analysis, fishbone diagrams, 5Whys - Data management and analysis using Minitab; Yield reporting with Pareto, Cp/Cpk, GR&R - Experience with precision measurement and inspection devices such as calipers, micrometers, height gages, OMM, profilometers, optical inspection devices, multi-meters, and torque wrenches - Manufacturing knowledge and relevant work experience in Supplier Quality, Product Quality, or Product Reliability - Demonstrated ability to resolve complex issues in creative, efficient, and effective ways, including handling ambiguous or undefined challenges - Demonstrated ability to gain deep understanding of the business and end user needs quickly, using customer insights and data - 10+ years' experience in operations, working with and managing OEM/CM suppliers, throughout the product life cycle from Concept to EOL with minimum 5 years experience as STM Preferred: - Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent - Master's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent - Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification - Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production - Experience with the project management of technical projects - Experience with PLCs including programming and interfacing with shop floor control systems, IPC, pneumatics, and servomotors - Experience working with automated equipment suppliers and integrators, including designing or implementing integrated automation solutions (e.g., material handling systems, high-speed packaging lines, manufacturing lines) - Knowledge of robotics (6DOF, SCARA, or Gantry programming) or technical expertise in Industrial Automation or Human Centered Design - Experience interpreting, modifying, and developing mechanical and electrical drawings Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
