Sr. Site Technical Manager, Device Postponement Operations (DPO)

The Senior Site Technical Manager (STM) is responsible for development, qualification, and validation of assembly, test, and pack out processes for Amazon’s Devices Products in a multi-product, automation-focused Basic qualifications: - BS degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent - Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments - Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures - Knowledge of QA methodology and tools, with demonstrated experience in an QAE role - Experience with DFx (Design for cost, test, manufacturing) - Experience with precision torque, measurement and inspection devices (i.e., automated and manual torque wrenches, calipers, micrometers, profilometers, optical inspection devices, multi-meters, torque wrenches) - Experience managing and delivering product quality or testing - 1+ years of programmable logic controls (PLC) programs experience - NFQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics, or 2+ years of demonstrating safety standards experience - Experience handling ambiguous or undefined challenges through strong problem solving abilities - Experience using customer insights and data to deeply understand target customers and dive deep - Demonstrated experience with cycle time waterfall and line balancing, SOP generation, personnel training; - Data management and analysis using Matlab, JMP, Minitab; Yield reporting with Pareto, Cp/Cpk, GR&R; - 10+ years’ experience in operations, working with and managing OEM/CM suppliers, throughout the product life cycle from Concept to EOL with minimum 5 years experience as STM. Preferred: - Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent - Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production - Experience with the project management of technical projects - Master's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, material science, physics or equivalent, or MS degree - Experience with Lean/Six Sigma - Experience working with engineering and technical teams to build automated solutions - Experience with electrical theory, robotics, controls components, and automated equipment, or experience interpreting, modifying, and developing mechanical and electrical drawings - Experience designing or implementing integrated automation solutions such as material handling systems, high-speed packaging lines, or manufacturing lines - Manufacturing knowledge and relevant work experience in Supplier Quality, Product Quality, or Product Reliability; - Experience with basic metrology equipment such as OMM, caliper, height-gage; - Experience with PLC, IPC, pneumatics, servomotors, knowledge of 6DOF, Scara, or Gantry programming; Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
