Sr. Product Design Engineer, Amazon Devices-Hardware

• Lead a design team through technical capabilities, clear communication, and strong organizational skills. • Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of mechanical systems, with expertise in systems integration Basic qualifications: - Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures - Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field - 8-10+ years of experience in product development - Strong 3D CAD skills (Creo or similar) - Demonstrated experience in designing products for consumer, enterprise or industrial use. - Demonstrated design experience integrating component modules (I/O, Cameras, Sensors, Displays, Batteries, PCBs, etc.) - Analytic problem-solving skills, including knowledge of Six Sigma, DOE or similar disciplines - Demonstrated knowledge of design specification, and validation using tolerance analysis and critical parameter management. - Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing technologies, and design for manufacturability. - Product validation experience (Shock/Drop, Environmental Testing, etc...) - Proven track record as an individual contributor or manager of engineering teams through the whole development cycle (concept to production) - Demonstrated leadership and mentorship skills - High tolerance for ambiguity and ability to turn broad program objectives into actionable design initiatives - This position will require international travel; ~15%. Preferred: - Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production - Master’s degree - Experience in designing consumer electronics - Experience designing for high volume manufacturing - Demonstrated ability to work cross functionally with all disciplines involved in specifying and engineering complex electronic products (for example, Industrial Design, Product Management, Electrical Engineering, Design Integrity, Tooling & Process Engineering, etc.) - Demonstrated design experience with dynamic mechanisms. - Expertise in AI, and increasing your productivity or skills in engineering through its utilization. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
