BOS35 is one of two major innovation hubs within Amazon Robotics’ RDPI Global Engineering organization — alongside ANR10 in Hamme, Belgium — responsible for developing the packaging, sortation, and labeling Basic qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field - 5+ years of engineering team management experience - 10+ years of manufacturing, process, industrial engineering experience - Demonstrated experience building and scaling a hardware development or R&D site from early stage to mature operations - Track record of delivering complex electromechanical systems from concept through production qualification with a demonstrated commitment to both product safety and operational safety in lab/manufacturing environments Preferred: - Master's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field - Experience in technical leadership of development, testing, and implementation of large-scale, complex technology projects - Experience leading a multi-disciplinary site (engineering + manufacturing + lab operations) with full P&L or budget ownership - Background in industrial automation, robotics, or mechatronics product development - Experience managing technology transfer to contract manufacturers, including PPAP, DFM/DFA, and production qualification processes - Familiarity with safety certification processes (NRTL, CE marking, risk assessments per ISO 12100/ISO 13849) and industrial safety standards (OSHA, ANSI/RIA) - Experience operating in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment where the organizational model is being built alongside the products - Strong executive communication skills — ability to simplify complex technical tradeoffs for VP-level and above audiences - Experience leveraging AI/ML tools to drive engineering productivity and operational efficiency Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
