Senior Manufacturing Cost Engineer, Amazon Manufacturing Services

Amazon Manufacturing Services (AMS) is building internal advanced manufacturing capabilities to support engineering teams across Amazon, specializing in metals fabrication, machining, and additive manufacturing. Basic qualifications: - Bachelor's degree or above in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other STEM field - 2+ years of engineering, construction, manufacturing, or warehouse environment experience - 5+ years of experience in manufacturing cost engineering, cost analysis, or manufacturing business intelligence. - Experience building cost models from process-level inputs (cycle times, material costs, labor routing, overhead allocation). - Proficiency with data analysis and automation tools (Excel, SQL, Python, or equivalent). - Experience working with ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing data. Preferred: - Experience in a fast-paced, automated, industrial, logistics, production or manufacturing environment - Experience with reporting and Data Visualization tools such as Quick Sight / Tableau / Power BI or other BI packages - Master's degree in industrial or manufacturing engineering, or 7+ years of industrial engineer, operations engineer, manufacturing engineer, or project engineer in a manufacturing environment experience - Experience with should-cost modeling tools or methodologies. - Exposure to SAP or similar ERP implementation in a manufacturing context. - Experience automating cost models through scripting or BI tool development. - Experience interfacing with finance or accounting functions on transfer pricing or cost allocation. - Familiarity with metals fabrication, CNC machining, or additive manufacturing processes. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
