Product Design Engineer – Customer Terminals, Amazon Leo

Amazon LEO is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and Basic qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent - 3+ years of experience product design (consumer, medical, telecom, etc) - 3+ years of experience with 3D CAD modeling & 2D drawing creation - Experience with designing for high volume manufacturing and assembly processes (plastic injection / thermoforming, casting, sheet metal, machining, various finishing processes) - Experience performing tolerance analysis and statistical analysis techniques Preferred: - Master's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent - 5+ years of experience in consumer electronics products designing IP66 outdoor rated electronics/telecommunications products. - Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs), flexes and electrical interconnect design experience - Experience performing mechanical and thermal Finite Element Analysis (FEA) simulations - Subject Matter Expert in several mechanical engineering disciplines. - Experience with Phase Array antennas including products used in the field. - Excellent mechanics and material fundamentals - Excellent written and verbal communication skills at both the engineering and executive level Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
