Principal Technical Program Manager, Alexa Shopping-Core

Alexa+ is transforming how hundreds of millions of customers shop by voice, and delivering on that promise depends as much on how we build as on what we build. We're looking for a Principal Technical Program Basic qualifications: - 10+ years of engineering experience - 7+ years of technical product or program management experience - 5+ years of software development experience - Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules - Experience in architectural design or system design independent of an architect - Experience in verbal and written communication for executive level leaders - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience - Track record of defining and delivering programs in ambiguous spaces where neither the business nor the technical strategy was defined, operating with complete independence. - Strong technical background with the judgment to evaluate end-to-end system designs (scalability, latency, reliability, quality) and to identify risks in technical strategies, architectures, and engineering organization structures. - Proven ability to create mechanisms, metrics, and standards that other teams adopt, and to act as a force multiplier across teams. Preferred: - 8+ years of hands-on work managing complex technology projects experience - Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules - Experience leading testing, quality, or developer-productivity programs at scale across multiple teams. - Experience with AI/ML products, conversational interfaces, or voice-first experiences, and a technical understanding of agentic architectures and multi-step task orchestration. - Experience building or driving adoption of test automation and evaluation frameworks, ideally leveraging LLMs or agentic workflows. - Track record of remediating endemic, cross-org problems and driving architecture or organization changes that let teams work independently. - Experience influencing architectural and investment decisions for large-scale, customer-facing systems. - Experience developing the TPM community through mentoring, promotion assessments, and best-practice education. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
