Help shape the future of cloud and AI infrastructure policy in the Pacific Northwest.Amazon is looking for a talented, innovative, and experienced individual to represent Amazon Web Services (AWS), the Basic qualifications: - Bachelor's degree or above in a relevant discipline (e.g. Law, Political Science, Public Policy, Public Affairs, Economic Development) - Experience in relevant public policy and advocacy on payments and financial services issues - 12+ years of public policy, government relations, community relations, public affairs, corporate social responsibility, or equivalent experience Preferred: - Experience in working directly with government officials and regulatory bodies - Experience in written and verbal communication with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to executives and non-technical leaders - Experience working effectively across cross-functional teams and partnering well with people at all levels within an organization - Strong knowledge of and background in advocacy and public policy development pertaining to technology issues, such as cloud computing, data center infrastructure, or AI policy at the state or local level. - Ability to effectively and comfortably interact at the highest corporate, state, and local government levels. - Ability to identify and understand key technical aspects pertaining to corporate operations in legislative and regulatory proposals, understand business implications, and synthesize policy documents for internal and external customers. - Ability to influence, negotiate with, and persuade others is required Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
