Modeling and Simulation Engineer , Leo Customer Terminal

Our mission is to deliver fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved Basic qualifications: - Experience with Linux/Unix - Master's degree in electrical engineering, physics, mathematics, or an equivalent field - 5+ years of experience in satellite system design, modeling, and analysis, or equivalently complex time-dynamic systems - 4+ years of experience developing code in MATLAB or Python, with familiarity in industry-standard coding and regression practices - Experience conducting and documenting trade studies and design trades - Experience working in a small team and drive beyond expectations to deliver results Preferred: - Master's or PhD degree in electrical engineering, physics, mathematics, or an equivalent field - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills - Experience taking a leading role in building complex algorithm or computing infrastructure that has been successfully delivered to customers - Experience in space vehicle/satellite operations, space communications, or a related industry - Experience in satellite constellation design and management trades - Experience modeling orbits, reference frames, and efficiently using vector geometry to simulate time-varying relative geometry of satellites and ground nodes - Experience in embedded wireless systems, or experience with general troubleshooting and debugging of hardware - Experience working with mobility satellite terminals, such as maritime and aeronautical - Familiarity with phased array designs and implementations - Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/network development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and live-site operations Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
