Industrial Design Engineer II, OneMHS, 1MHS - Field Fixed

Amazon's One Material Handling System (OMHS) team is seeking an Industrial Design Engineer II (IDE II) to join our growing engineering team. In this role, you will design major sub-system portions of material Basic qualifications: - Experience in Design/Innovation, research & development, manufacturing, process, industrial engineering, or related work - Experience in management of engineering design projects - Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a foreign equivalent - 3+ years of experience in MHE system design, industrial engineering, or systems integration - Experience designing sub-system level material handling solutions at LOD 200–300 (schematic through precise geometry) - Experience producing equipment specifications and vendor procurement documentation (RFP technical sections) - Proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, or CREO) and engineering analysis tools Preferred: - Master's degree in Engineering (any domain) or foreign equivalent, Operations, Business Administration, or a related field - Knowledge of concepts like system architecture, optimization, system dynamics, system analysis, statistical analysis, reliability analysis, and decision making - Experience with complex automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, and systems and high-speed manufacturing - Experience with design-in-safety - Experience with process design based on Lean Principles - Experience developing reusable design templates or configuration patterns for multi-site deployment - Knowledge of cross-component integration across mechanical, electrical, controls, and structural disciplines - Experience with material flow simulation (FlexSim, AnyLogic), BIM coordination (Navisworks), or parametric design analysis Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
