Front End Power Electronics Engineer

Amazon Web Services is seeking a Front End Power Electronics Engineer to design the medium-voltage AC/DC front-end stage of the SST, including active-front-end rectification, PFC/THD performance and high-voltage Basic qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. - Power-electronics design experience in high-voltage/high-power converters - Experience with active front ends, rectifiers, PFC and THD - Demonstrated understanding of thermal, EMI and protection implications of MV switching converters - Demonstrated ability to work from simulation through hardware validation. Preferred: - Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering. - 2+ years experience designing grid-tied/MV converters with AFE/PFC and power-quality. - Experience with high-voltage SiC devices. - Demonstrated working effectively with adjacent engineering disciplines and contributing to full A-to-Z product ownership. - Demonstrated operating effectively in a greenfield environment where standards and reference designs may require interpretation and adaptation. - Experience documenting design decisions, assumptions, trade-offs, risks and technical specifications.
