Embedded Software Engineer, Ring

Ring builds home security products used by millions of customers worldwide. Our firmware engineers own the software that runs on those devices, from first boot through to the features customers use every Basic qualifications: - Experience (non-internship) in professional software development - Experience in professional, non-internship software development - Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design - Experience with an RTOS in a production environment: task design, inter-task communication, and synchronisation primitives - Experience implementing low-level drivers and interrupt service routines. - Experience with testing discipline in an embedded context: unit testing, integration testing, or CI pipelines targeting embedded hardware - Experience owning a software component end to end, from design through to delivery and maintenance Preferred: - Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent - Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations - Experience with wireless protocols in a production environment: BLE, Wi-Fi, or similar - Experience with firmware development and testing of battery-powered products - Experience designing software libraries or interfaces consumed by other teams or products - Experience with common bus protocols: SPI, I2C, UART - Experience with Embedded Linux, Yocto, or BSP development - Experience with development tools such as IAR, Keil, or equivalent - Experience with scripting languages such as Python for build automation or test infrastructure - Experience building or integrating AI or ML capabilities into embedded or IoT products - Experience with AWS IoT services or cloud-connected device development Amazon is an equal opportunities employer.
