Backbone Technical Business Developer, APAC Backbone

AWS operates one of the world's largest and most complex backbone networks, connecting Regions and Availability Zones across 190+ countries to deliver highly available, fault-tolerant, and scalable cloud Basic qualifications: - Experience working in a network planning, network construction/implementation, or commercial implementation role at an ISP, telecoms operator, or Hyperscaler - Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements - 3+ years of experience in the telecommunications or network infrastructure industry, with a focus on solving complex technical and commercial challenges - Experience leading or contributing to the architecture, design, and deployment of large-scale network systems, with a focus on capacity scaling, reliability engineering, and operational readiness - Experience developing financial models, business cases, and investment analyses that drive measurable business impact Preferred: - Knowledge of IP networking fundamentals such as BGP, OSPF and other R&S technologies - Experience working in large-scale backbone or long-haul networking environments, including terrestrial and subsea infrastructure - Strong knowledge of optical transport technologies, DWDM systems, fiber optic cable types, and network test equipment - Experience negotiating and managing contracts with telecommunications suppliers, including pricing structures, SLAs, and capacity agreements - Knowledge of the APAC telecommunications landscape, including key carriers, submarine cable systems, and regulatory environments - Strong analytical skills with the ability to model complex trade-offs across cost, capacity, route diversity, and risk - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present recommendations to senior stakeholders and influence across organizational boundaries Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
